Protege: The Battle for the Big Artista Break Season 2 First Gala Night

From Top 20, Protege is now down to 15 finalist wherein 5 of them are already out.



Last Sunday, the judges revealed the bottom two of every region: Japs De Luna & Glenn Roy of North and Central Luzon; Kelly and Vien Allen King of Mega Manila; Arny Ross & Mykel Ong of South Luzon; Apple Vega & Ruru Madrid of Mindanao; Mitch Capili & Zandra Summer of Visayas.

During the first gala night, the finalist in bottom two showcased their talents in singing, dancing and acting.  It is very hard for the judges and the mentors to decide who will go home.  

And when the decision is already made up, Ricky Davao (mentor of North and Central Luzon) chose to save Japs De Luna over Glenn Roy

 

Jolina Magdangal (Visayas mentor) chose Zandra Summer over Mitch Capili

 

Roderick Paulate of Mega Manila save Vien Allen King than Kelly

 

Gina Alajar (mentor of South Luzon) save Arny Ross over Mykel Ong

  

and Philip Salvador (mentor of Mindanao) chose Ruru Madrid than Apple Vega

 

The judges and mentor told to everyone especially the 5 who ended their journey that "this competition is the not the end of the road, it's just the beginning.  Even though they lost their chance, still they are now part of showbizness and soon many opportunities will came up. 

The remaining 15 finalist will compete again for the second gala night this coming August 26, 2012.

Zsa Zsa Padilla diagnosed with stage 1 kidney cancer


After losing her "lovey" Dolphy, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla is now facing another trial of her life.


According to the report from Joseph Pimentel, ABS-CBN North Hollywood, California, Zsa Zsa Padilla told ABS CBN news that she is now diagnosed with Stage 1 Kidney cancer.  She has a malignant growth the size of a golf ball inside her kidney told by her doctors at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.

“The first time I saw Dr. Folkes, he immediately told me it was malignant. So when I heard that word 'malignant,' I said, 'Oh man, I have cancer.’ I went back the next day for blood work and a scan and it showed the same thing -- almost a 3 centimeters growth -- and he advised for it to be taken out," Padilla said.
Zsa Zsa Padilla was born as Esperanza Padilla in 1964, the daughter of actor and sportsman Carlos “Sonny” Padilla, Jr. who served as the referee in the Ali-Frazier world heavyweight boxing match.  

Padilla known for her songs Hiram and Through the Years, the song she sung during the wake of Dolphy.
